The research group Physiotherapy and Sports Therapy is concerned with the development, practical implementation and adaption of physiotherapeutic and sport-therapeutic methods for the treatment of degenerative musculoskeletal diseases. The main focus is on arthrosis and haemophilic arthropathy as well as on further degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Adjacent interdisciplinary research questions concerning the development and behaviour of, for instance pain, are treated, too. All these research objects focus on improving the quality of life of patients affected by means of enhancing the situation of the disease or by preventing any maladaptive behavior.
